Wow, what just happened here?!?!? I blame Helen, the listmom at NETA, for posting information about a good Southwest fare from New Hampshire, and I knew that if there was a good fare from New Hampshire there would be a good fare from Hartford. And so there was. And then before I could stop to slap myself silly in a vain attempt to bring myself to my senses, I was pressing "buy these tickets" and then the rental car was embarrassingly cheap and while the hotel was less of a bargain I went to priceline and got a not unreasonable rate (though I wish I'd bid lower--hint--try less than $80 for 3 star + in Columbia-Jessup, just saying). I am leaving after work on Friday and coming back Saturday night in plenty of time to rub Rhys' feet and feed her chocolate on Mother's Day. Because for letting me do this, she deserves that and much more.
Okay, so peeps. Despite being a great bargain, this is a rather pricey 24 hours of my life, and that's before I even start buying yarn and fiber. So, who else is throwing caution to the wind and making the trip? I've joined the MS&W blog and even got in just under the wire to order my tote bag, so I will be marked as a blogger for all to see. But who's going to go and get drunk* with me Friday night and pet yarn all day Saturday? C'mon, who?
*I should note for the record here that "getting drunk" for me, at this point in my life, means consuming approximately 1.75 glasses of red wine.

I'm going although I promised my husband my undivided attention when we arrive Friday night,as his reward for being willing to drive me, but I'd love to go yarn petting with you on Saturday.

Oh... you are a temptress. I thought that the NH Sheep and Wool was that weekend (which I already committed to) but now I realize that isn't true. I'm thinking about it. Want to share a hotel room?

OH MY GOD! Are those flights cheap!? Now I'm TOTALLY IN. (Assuming my husband lets me go). I'll e-mail you tonight.

Oh man. I really wanted to go but it's just not going to happen. Hopefully I can make it to Rhinebeck.

Not me. Maryland is a LOOONG way from here. and I'm unemployed and all. But have a glass for me and pet lots of fibre. I'm seriously thinking about Rhinebeck. I should manage to get myself a driving licence by then...

WOO HOOO!!! Hopefully I'll see you there - I'm coming up on saturday on the knit happens bus. I'm guessing that, by the time the day is over, it'll officially become the "drunk bus." :)

I wish I could join you for a drink on Friday, but I am coming down by bus on Sat. I can't wait - even though I know I will spend way too much money when I get there!
