Could be Worse

Thanks to the knitting goddess, and the process of blocking, and a little dumb luck, I think I can wear this thing.

2006feb_034

Ignore, if you will, the goofy expression.  I mean, I don't exactly look svelte in it, but then again, I haven't devleoped the ability to knit a magic sweater yet.  I'll let you know when I work that one out.

So much randomness I've been saving up, but then I'm tired and there's this fiber work to do, and then all the worky works, and then there's going to work with people with whom I love to chat, and the chatting that ensues, which gets in the way of the worky works as well as the breaks.

Later gators.  But psst....two sleeps to spa!

Looks great!

I think it looks great. Can you wear it next to your skin? Because the open neckline would be so flattering without the other shirt underneath.

I'm highly impressed.

i think it's pretty too. and i agree with jessie. that neckline without the t-shirt underneath would look awesome.

Lookin' good. And when you figure out how to knit that magic sweater - the one that makes us all look like Claudia - could you show me how, too?
Can't wait til SPA. Only 1 sleep now!

You might need a good smack - it looks fantastic. YOU look fantastic in it.

I think you look nice! I have that sweater on the needles too... for another day, I guess. I think you should ditch the t-shirt too. Perhaps a collared white shirt (ohhh...or a nice pale pink) would look super preppy.:)

D-lurking to let you know--- love the blog!
:) Kate

Well done, Cate, and welcome to the world of steekers. Wait'll you try that on a cardigan. :D I agree with TMW--it looks great on you.

how cute are you?!? the sweater looks fantastic!

It looks great! I don't think that type of sweater is going to make ANYONE look svelte, nor do I think it's supposed to. It's got a fabulous 'hug me, pet me, I'm loverly soft handspun' vibe about it, which is better than svelte in my book any day.

I know have to add Kepler to my ever growing list of things I want to knit.

I think it looks great!!!

Oh, spa..... Ah.

I don't know, Cate, I'm thinking that either without the t-shirt underneath, or with an equally scoopnecked leotard-type top or some such thing if it's too itchy, that sweater's looking mighty svelte...I love the shaping. It's making me reconsider the cable-across-the-hips thing. Woo! AND Hoo! Good job!

Apparently your readers want to see some cleavage.

;-)

Now, what to do with the rest of the fleece....

Oooh, I love it. Makes me want to make one of my own!

When you figure out the magic sweater thing, let the rest of us know, 'k?

It's beautiful. Wear some favorite lingerie underneath and enjoy. :-)

It does look great. Comfy, warm and just the thing for the casual chic look;-)

It looks great! And hooray for blocking!

Totally cute. It looks very warm and cozy, and I think you look great in it. :)

It looks FABULOUS. Of course now that I've read the next entry down, I'm wiping off bits of chewed broccoli and feta cheese off of my computer monitor, but heck. It really looks great. No need for any gutt in-suckage. Honest.

And own handspun, steeked, twisted I-cord sweater - how Hot Damn! is that!

You look marvelous in the Kepler.......makes me want to knit one.
When you figure out that "magic" sweater, will you share? Please?

Your Kepler is fantastic, and you look GREAT in it!

Caz looked over my shoulder while I was reading your blog, and admired your sweater. Then when I told him you'd spun the yarn yourself he said, "Wow, that's just one step away from hunting the sheep down and killing it yourself!"

I gave him a long look until finally he muttered, "Not, you know, that you need to really 'hunt' sheep..... Or kill them..... But you know what I mean!!" Looks like I need to send him for a refresher course at Partner of a Fiber Fiend school.

It looks good. And you look good. Svelte might be almost as overrated as housework. :-)

it looks wonderful. and i think you look great in it.

You made a whole, entire sweater out of yarn you spun yourself, and it doesn't have 3 arms or any other really glaring problems! It's awesome, and it looks adorable. I'm still searching for the magic sweater, myself, but I'm starting to think that the post-twins bod is not quite as temporary as I once thought. But *you* look great!

It's flattering and lovely. Wear it in good health.
I'll SPA next year. This year it's synchronized swimming madness as my daughter has two days of shows.

You look fantastic. Very pretty. You should be so proud!
