Done:
- Dump giant piles of money from my bank account into the IRS bank account for 2005.
- Dump more giant piles of money from my bank account into the IRS bank account for 2006.
- Fill out forms to get back money from my health care savings account.
- Remind myself not to resent paying taxes, as I believe in my responsibility to contribute to the public and social good.
- Remember who's in charge of the money I just sent away.
- Try hard to preserve positive attitude.
- Wrangle my way through incredibly complicated professional situation.
- Continue to wait to determine final outcome.
- Hope for best, whatever that is.
- Try to figure out what I think that is, knowing that my opinion about that tends to change every 30 seconds or so.
- Finally send out broken computer now that taxes are done.
- Lose 10 pounds through regular walking, eating less junk at night, and swapping a spoonful of peanut butter for a morning muffin or bagel.
- Stay sane by knitting Rogue.
- And socks. Socks for Sanity.
- Try to spin Cashgora for Justine but realize short-stapled slippery fibers spun fine and high-twist makes for high blood pressure in a stressed-out spinner.
- Keep at it anyway, a little at a time (sorry Justine!).
- Try to keep up with emails that are no longer automatically filed into Outlook folders, but instead are stuck in a big, flat web interface with no address book.
- Try to get ancient computer to work with backup hard drive (success), mp3 player (failure), digital camera (not yet tried), wireless (occasionally).
- Repeatedly curse ancient computer's 4GB C: drive and that adorable "windows cleanup" balloon that haunts me every 15 minutes. Low! Very Low! CRITICALLY LOW! Shut up, dude, windows alone takes up practically 90% of the hard drive, I *get* it.
- Try not to have a complete nervous breakdown.
Not done:
- Keep up with blog.
Better times will be soon, one way or the other. We shall see. Wish me luck. Whatever that is.

Geez. You got a lot on your plate right now or what? I hope you can whittle things down to a manageable level very soon. XOXO

Luck!
I live in fear of losing access to my computer. It's happened before, and it's ugly. You're a brave woman.

Good vibes, comin' atcha. Go look at more pictures of baby Boodle and Blender - that makes anyone's blood pressure go down a bit. (No matter WHAT they happen to be doing right this minute.)

Luck wishing commenced and will continue until the better times appear.

Good thing you have Rogue and sock knitting is all I can say. Yowza. Congrats on the weight loss!

Socks for Sanity. My new motto.

Definitely luck! Socks for Sanity!

Girl, you have enough stress on your plate, no worries about more. Send whatever you have and I'll make it have big it gets, honest, no worries. Knit rogue, ignore that computer and good luck with the walking, I broke down and gave in to the gym gods and paid to walk in air condtioned comfort

I mean, is the moon in some sink them lower than their psyche can stand phase?? Walk, it helps..with all of the above, except maybe who's in charge of spending.

Peanut butter is a good idea (bagels are yummy, but evil). So are bubble baths! This too shall pass . . :-)
Posted by: Kathy | April 19, 2006 at 07:31 PM
Good luck. You have been missed. Would love to see Rogue update photos when you have time, sanity, and a well-behaved computer.
Posted by: Jennie | April 19, 2006 at 07:46 PM
Just get the computer working. Everything else is ignorable. Justine agrees.
Posted by: Laurie | April 19, 2006 at 08:27 PM
Too... much... going... on! And then you're trying to implement a significant exercise program on top of all that? Silly twin mom. Actually, though, the walking will probably give you more energy and help you sleep better, which may improve things (or at least your perception of them) significantly. Go huddle up a comfy chair and knit on something mindless for a while, ok?
Thanks for your sweet comments on Eris. It's the first sweater I ever made that actually fit me that well, and I just want to walk around hugging it all day. :-) And I don't recall any seriously wonky handspun items from your neck of the woods, either.

WHEW! I'm tired just reading about it.
GOOD LUCK!!

Wishing you luck, time and sanity. Please send back any you don't need.

You absolutely know I'm there, darling. Reachable by any means necessary. Knit on and prosper. And hug Rhys and the kids, a LOT.
Oh, and the flask in the second drawer on the left? Should be used. With precautions, predilections, predestined uh-oh-I-shouldn't-do-that's, but still...jesus...
What I mean to say is hang in there, baby, we're rooting for you, no matter what kind of weird hell might smack you upside the head. Beaststalker pants recommended. Level 40 required. I know you've got that, and more, to spare. Go, you. :-)

Breathe. Drink. Knit Socks. Hang in there!
Posted by: Katy | April 19, 2006 at 11:04 PM
Well, it sounds like you still are trying hard to preserve positive attitude. lol Good luck, especially with the computer.

Well, if MY Done vs. To Do list ratio was as good as yours, I'd be proud... You've done a lot.
Posted by: CarolineF | April 20, 2006 at 08:13 AM
Socks for Sanity...love it and will add to my vocabulary! To be honest, it sounds like you've done a pretty fair job of whittling your To Do's down to a manageable level. As far as work stuff, learn to leave it at the door when you leave work (not easy, but makes for much more pleasant evenings).
Posted by: Diane | April 20, 2006 at 08:46 AM
I'm with you on the first two list items.
Take care.

My husband wrote "Do not use for War" on the check we sent to the IRS. We did feel a bit better.

Luck being sent your way... Hey, I clicked on what you listen to at work - cool!
Posted by: Lisa | April 20, 2006 at 11:53 AM
Oh. Oh, man. I NEED a "Socks for Sanity" button for my blog. Just think about how excited the mental health industry would be to know that all they need to do is teach everyone to knit their own socks. Which we, of couse, already knew.
Posted by: Colleen | April 20, 2006 at 01:19 PM
I love the idea of a socks for sanity button! Jettison the mental mess and make some socks! breathe deep and knit round and round and round.....
sending good calm vibes your way:-)
