Autum Rosiness
Hey, I took a picture. See?
That's about 1.9 sleeves. I've got a few more rows of the second sleeve, then I can cast on for the body. Now this sounds like more of an accomplishment than it actually is, since they're 3/4 sleeves, and it's a raglan-style construction, so you knit to the underarms of both sleeves, knit the body, and then knit them all together in the round.
It's one of those patterns that has just the right kind of pacing to keep someone like me going. There are no overwhelming black hole sections (at least I don't see any)--there's always a benchmark near to mark your progress. I can't stop knitting it which is a nice change given all my UFOs. In fact, I think I'll go back to doing exactly that.
To distract you, I'll show you the amazing costume finds from TJ Maxx today.

LOVE the costumes! Halloween - here we come!
The sweater looks great too!

wowza - on both the sweater knitting and the costume fronts!

That is a costume worthy of King Richard's Faire's costume competition. Spidey's cool too. The 1.9 sleeves are just amazing.

Love the sweater AND the costumes. Young'un has that same Spidey ensemble ... one day we'll have to have our two SuperGuys meet. In full uniform, natch.

I find it absolutely incredible that you actually with your own hands MADE that sweater (or sleeves). I have no ambitions for multiple color knitting, but if I did THAT would be the one I would want to knit.

Those sleeves are gorgeous! But I refuse to look at the costumes. Costume means Hallowe'en and Hallowe'en means fall and fall means summer's over and I'm just not ready to go there yet. So, nice sleeves :-)

That looks so beautiful... I want to make it, toooooo!

That is GORGEOUS. I have been thinking about stranded knitting and for some reason wondered what had happened to the sweater you had started for the master knitter thing (not asking, just saying it popped into my mind) so I'm glad to see that you are doing some at the moment. The colours are absolutely beautiful. No wonder you can't stop knitting it.

The sleeves are looking great! I haven't gotten out of the ribbing yet for the body, but then, corrugated ribbing always seems to take forever, huh? The costumes are fabulous--I can't believe how big the twins are getting!

The sweater is just lovely, that'll be stunning when it's all finished!

The kids are set.
Love that knit of WIP. It always makes it fun throughout, rather than "what WAS I thinking??"

The sweater is going to be amazing. That's very clever construction! The kids look fab!

That is some beautiful knitting, Cate. The sweater will be stunning.
Great costume shot of the kidlings. :D

Wow, those are great costumes! I had no idea TJMaxx had costumes.

Gorgeous sleeves! That sweater is going to be awesome when done. Glad you're enjoying the knit. Love the costumes! Nothing like being all set for Halloween early!

Costume time already? Better not tell my 4 year old. The sweater is gorgeous! Nice work.

I am oh so very tempted. Which is frightening me.

Ooh, beautamafull sweater! And so glad you're enjoying knitting it so much. I recently started a sock that's been like that, and I'm all amazed how quickly knitting gets done when you actually, you know, KNIT! Instead of just talking about it a lot! grin.
(Great costumes, btw. TJ Maxx? Gotta mark that down. Sweet!)

Beautiful sweater. It's making me want to go knit something stranded. However, stranded knitting + grad school = UFO!! So, I think I'll be knitting a lot of plain stockinette over the next couple of months.

Oh, Cate, those sleeves!... I want, I want!

I love it when projects are so compelling--Go Cate Go!
Love the costumes too--Spidey looks very heroic.

Brilliant costumes. I always waited until the last minute and my kid ended up with whatever cheesy witch costume was left over -- until last year she gave up and concocted her own.
And speaking of concoctions, I am just in awe of those sleeves.

Stunning sleeves. And the costumes rock. I bet they're going to wear them to death until they outgrow them.

Beautiful sleeves, and what great costumes!

I'm so excited about your new sweater.
